About Oakland | Urgent Care
When you have a condition that requires urgent medical attention
Fast Pace Health is dedicated to treating patients with injuries or illnesses that require immediate attention. We know that accidents and illnesses can happen at any time. We staff a team of highly qualified professionals to help offer fast, compassionate, and cost-effective care for you and your family.
Our facility is designed for fast and convenient treatment for walk-in patients, and our providers are ready to provide immediate care. Our Oakland, Tennessee walk-in urgent care center is along Hwy 64 and is ready to help you when you have a condition that requires urgent medical attention.
Faster Medical Care When You Have No Time To Waste
Fast Pace Health is open seven days a week, with no appointment necessary and minimal wait times. This makes our urgent care clinics a great option for those who don’t have time to waste. We aim to make our urgent care clinics accessible for all, especially those in rural areas.
That is why we seek to provide quality urgent care, education, and accessibility for those who may live far from hospital emergency rooms or primary care offices. In fact, we’re a great alternative to far-off primary care appointments that could be days away.
Aside from those distant appointment times, many primary care offices don’t offer any care options after 5 p.m. At Fast Pace Health, we offer after-hours care when those injuries and late-night illnesses can’t wait.
Our urgent care clinics are also a great alternative to busy emergency rooms. In many cases, hospital emergency rooms are short-staffed and filled to the brim with patients. Urgent care clinics can help alleviate that burden by providing a solution for treating illnesses and minor scrapes and bruises.
An Alternative to a Crowded Emergency Room
Hospital emergency rooms are flooded with millions of people annually in the United States. Needless to say, this can make emergency rooms a high-volume and high-stress environment.
Our walk-in clinics provide an effective solution to busy hospital emergency room departments. The triage of patients is one key difference between urgent care and ERs. Hospital emergency room departments are set up to handle the most critical patients first, regardless of order — they’re not set up as a first-come, first-serve type of care.
They treat patients based on the severity of their injuries or illness. So, you could find yourself waiting for hours in an emergency room waiting room to get your injury or illness addressed by a healthcare professional. At our urgent care clinics, you can expect to wait around 15 minutes, many times less, to see a healthcare provider.
Emergency Departments Typically Cost More
Aside from the long waits, hospital emergency room departments can squeeze your wallet and be much more costly than urgent care facilities. At Fast Pace Health, we accept most private insurance plans and even offer self-pay options for those without insurance.
Emergency room departments serve a great purpose, and it is important to know when they are appropriate. For example, some reasons for visiting a hospital emergency room can include, but are not limited to:
- Seizures
- Major trauma and bleeding
- Severe chest pains
- OB complications
- Life-threatening conditions

Urgent Care Treatment: Common Illnesses and Injuries
We staff all our Fast Pace Health urgent care centers with knowledgeable and highly-trained healthcare professionals. These professionals are equipped to help address numerous types of illnesses and injuries.
Let’s look at some of the most common illnesses and injuries that could bring you to our Oakland, TN location.
Urgent Care for Illnesses & Infections
Some of the most common reasons for emergency room visits are infections. These include conjunctivitis (pink eye), ear infections, and urinary tract infections (UTIs). In fact, ear infections are the common reason for pediatric ER visits.
Infections like pink eye are a close second. This irritating condition is known for its redness, itchiness, and swelling to the eye. UTIs are another common infection. These are marked by pain and burning during urination, frequent urination, and more.
The good news is that these common infections are completely treatable in most cases. Of course, sitting in a crowded ER waiting to be seen is no fun. Thankfully, our urgent care centers are ready to help you address these infections and get you on the road to recovery.
We Can Treat Broken Bones, Burns, and Bruises Too
Aside from infections, issues like broken bones, burns, and bruises account for thousands and thousands of hospital emergency room visits yearly. The good news is most of these minor injuries can be addressed in an urgent care setting.
At Fast Pace Health, our healthcare professionals are equipped to handle most of these injuries, including lacerations, scrapes, bruises, broken bones, and bumps to the head, like concussions.
For example, mild burns would be defined as first-degree burns anywhere on the body or second-degree burns less than two or three inches in circumference. We can handle that. We can also handle broken bones, often requiring splinting, bracing, and pain management.
Visiting an urgent care clinic for minor injuries can help you avoid the stress of waiting in a busy hospital emergency room. But keep in mind that more severe injuries (third-degree burns, compound fractures, and severe head injuries) still require immediate emergency medical attention.
Common Cases of Nausea and Vomiting
Every year stomach viruses seem to make their way around, causing cases of nausea and vomiting and other gastrointestinal issues. Of course, nausea and vomiting are not limited to stomach viruses, there can be other culprits — like food poisoning.
Thankfully, our urgent care centers can help when these symptoms get you down. For example, if these symptoms last more than 24 hours or you find yourself unable to hold down food or liquid, come see us.
Our healthcare professionals can help treat your symptoms of nausea and vomiting. These treatments can include IV fluids and prescription of anti-nausea medications.
Seasonal Allergies & Allergic Reactions
Seasonal allergies also drive many people to seek help from their primary care professionals. The itchy, watery eyes, the runny nose, and the endless sneezing can sometimes be unbearable.
Allergies make up one of the most common medical conditions, but allergies to pollen in the air aren’t the only type.
There are also allergies to food, insect bites, and other environmental causes. The good news is, our urgent care centers are set up to handle most mild to moderate allergic reactions. But, more serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) require immediate emergency medical attention.
